The Role

We are seeking an experienced Bicycle Mechanic with expertise in electric bike repair to join our team on a full time basis and be the face of Zoomo at our Brisbane location! The successful candidate will work in a hybrid role; leading our Brisbane store's retail Front of House - helping our riders get onboarded and giving them the skills they need to get riding, and using their technical expertise in the Back of House workshop to service and repair bikes, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and performing at their best.

This role will require a reliable and confident self-starter who enjoys making an impact and bringing the energy! The successful individual will report into our City Operations Manager who is primarily based in Sydney (with regular travel to Brisbane).

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure our riders have a seamless in-person support experience
  • Take our riders through their onboarding process and all safety requirements
  • Help our riders troubleshoot any issues they may experience
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on Zoomo's e-bikes, including but not limited to: replacing batteries, motors, controllers, wiring, brakes, drivetrain components, and suspension systems.
  • Utilize specialized tools and equipment to perform advanced repairs, such as wheel truing, headset adjustments, and frame alignment.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, answering questions and providing recommendations on bike maintenance, repair, and upgrades.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed on bicycles, including detailed notes on parts and labor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop, ensuring that tools and equipment are in good condition and properly stored.
  • Work closely with the City Operations Manager (who is primarily based in Sydney) to work on continuous process and operational improvements to ensure the store and team's success.

Requirements

  • Experience with e-bikes and their electrical components i.e. lithium-ion batteries
  • Experience in a retail or customer facing operational environment
  • Fantastic communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and tasks
  • Comfortable working with tools and software
  • Excellent attention to all the little details, with great pride in the quality of work
  • A natural team player, humble and willing to get their hands dirty, helping others
  • A passion for bikes or cycling
  • Ability to commit to a full time roster

The salary on offer for this role is dependent on the level of relevant bike mechanic experience, starting at $50,000 and ranging up to $60,000+ for more experience candidates.
