Job Description
A thriving economy in space is needed to make life on Earth more vibrant, sustainable, and equitable. Space technology will enable global access to information, solutions to climate change, answers to global food security, products that transform healthcare, clean energy production, and more. Today, rocket launch options are slow, expensive, and unreliable. Stoke is building the world’s most efficient fully and rapidly reusable rocket designed to fly daily that will radically increase access to space and open up the space economy to safeguard our precious home, Earth.
Description
We know that at the heart of every great challenge is an extraordinary team. Stoke is building a world-class team and we are excited to begin offering internship opportunities for the Summer of 2025. As an intern, you will work on real, open-ended problems that directly contribute to the success of the company. You will work closely with your mentor and other employees who will help you apply your knowledge and grow your skills through high-impact projects. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.
Internships are available across the company within engineering teams such as mechanical, test, avionics, software, and manufacturing.
Please note: this role requires you to work onsite either at our Kent or Moses Lake location.
Qualifications
- Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a similar STEM field
- Exceptional command of engineering fundamentals
- Hands-on engineering experience through internships, personal projects, work, or teams
- Ability to manage a complex technical project and take it through execution
- Ability to learn and apply state of the art techniques to technical projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Able to work full-time, onsite for a minimum of 10-12 consecutive weeks
Preferred qualifications for various teams
Mechanical:
Project-level experience with mechanical, thermodynamic, or fluid design and analysis. CAD proficiency and working as part of a team a plus
Manufacturing:
Hands on experience building things or working in a machine shop
Avionics:
Designing, testing, and integrating PCBs
Test Stand Operations (Location: Moses Lake, WA):
Any hands on experience building things or performing hazardous ops (pressure testing, cryogenic handling, etc.)
