Job Description
The Platform Database Engineer will design and develop database management software for PassiveLogic’s Hive Controller embedded device.
The Hive Controller combines PassiveLogic's Autonomous Building Platform technology with state-of-the-art wireless sensors, intelligent I/O, and a user interface — all in a simple plug & play appliance that runs at the edge. It acts as a scalable, distributed compute and data storage system for customers throughout the Building Automation industry.
Responsibilities:
-Design and implement software to manage the installation, configuration, and upgrading of a distributed, fault-tolerant database -Design systems for back up and safely retaining customer data -Analyze existing SQL schema to identify potential areas for improvement -Review database changes to ensure all database standards and database documentation is within compliance -Build and prototype new services for our building automation platform -Work with components including API design, distributed database design, and data collection and aggregation — all with a focus on security and scalability -Work closely with the leadership team to understand PassiveLogic's business needs
