The Role

Comity is looking for members of the Business Operations team to take an active role in ensuring our success each day in power markets. In this role, you will

• build tools and systems that power our operations,
• drive improved efficiency and performance in our power trading unit with data-backed analysis, and
• own projects that support new market growth and rapid scaling of our power trading unit

As an early hire in this role, you’ll have broad impact over our operations platforms, information systems, and team culture.

We’re excited about you because:

• You have 4+ years experience in operations, product or strategy in a fast-paced environment such as a high-growth tech company; management consulting; investment banking; private equity.
• Highly analytical: You have a keen sense for how to break ambiguous problems into 'knowable' components, and you're adept at quickly navigating analytical question and answer pairs which obtain with one another. You have proficiency with Python and one or more common analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau, etc.
• Detail oriented: You have comfort and facility with the last few percent of accuracy, ensuring work products have zero defect.
• An excellent communicator: As well as solving problems, you can communicate your thinking to various stakeholder audiences who may have divergent points-of-view.
• Deal well with ambiguity: We are a growing team working on greenfield products, so an ability to work well in an unstructured environment with loosely defined requirements is critical.
• Eager to learn: You are eager to learn and grow; you enjoy the pain of a steep learning curve.

Location

We’re headquartered in New York City with offices in Chicago, with a flexible approach to remote work and work from home. Chicago is the preferred location for this role.
