Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead the financial function of our growing, mid-sized organization headquartered in Amsterdam. This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations, driving financial planning and analysis, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic business decisions that promote sustainable growth.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep financial expertise, excellent analytical skills, and a strong understanding of the European and global financial landscape. You will be a key member of the leadership team and act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO and the Executive Committee.
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
- Partner with the executive team to support long-term business planning and investment decisions.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive performance and growth.
Financial Operations & Control
- Oversee corporate finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Oversee consolidation and cost accounting activities
- Maintain strong internal controls and risk management processes.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations (e.g., Dutch GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations).
Business Analysis & Performance Monitoring
- Lead financial planning & analysis (FP&A) to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to track financial and operational performance.
- Business partner to Head of Global Sales and Marketing
Team Leadership
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key liaison to external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisors and banks
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors and shareholders.
