Job Description

Woodard & Curran is a national engineering, science, and operations firm with a simple vision for clean water, a safe environment, healthy communities, and happy people. As an employee-owned company, we strive to cultivate diverse teams and encourage collaboration in an equitable and inclusive culture. We seek talented individuals from all backgrounds to help us address a broad range of water and environmental issues. We prioritize our people, offering opportunities for professional growth, ownership, and flexibility. That’s how we make a difference to our clients, people, and the planet.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to join our company. If you want to jumpstart your career and expand your skills while working alongside talented experts, then this is the opportunity for you! You will be involved with project work from your first day, working side-by-side with experienced engineers and scientists to help clients address their water and environmental challenges. Exercise your creativity and problem-solving skills in a supportive environment where every perspective is valued. We are a mission-driven organization that puts our people first, with a culture that focuses on providing meaningful work, engaging challenges, recognition, and reward.

Duties and responsibilities vary based on level of experience and project expectations. An intern will generally shadow experienced professionals and participate as a member of a team by contributing to actual projects. Interns can apply what they have learned “from the classroom” via experience-based learning.

This Internship Position will be based in our Providence, RI office.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a second or third year Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology student. Specific classes taken should include a mix of the following: SCADA and Communication Systems, Automation and Process Control, Instruments and Basic Circuit Construction, Programmable Controls (PLC), Industrial Systems and Computer and Network Fundamentals. Any experience or interest in electrical wiring, controls, PLC and HMI programming, customer service, and fieldwork is highly desired.

*We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas for this job opening.
