Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our structural engineering group. The successful candidate will be joining an established, respected, and growing team providing a range of structural engineering services to our practices across the firm. As a Structural Engineer at Woodard & Curran you will work on impactful infrastructure projects for our industrial, water, wastewater, municipal, design-build, and plant operations clients on a regional and national basis.

Your work will come in varying degrees of complexity and although you will develop to work independently on most projects, our experienced engineers will be there to support you collaboratively, answer questions, and provide on-the-job mentoring. This position level is flexible based on the experience and qualifications of the candidate. New graduates or candidates with related structural engineering experience ranging from 0 – 2 years of experience are encouraged to apply for this position.

Primary office location is flexible in the region as is the consideration for Virtual status within that same geography. Occasional travel may be needed for client meetings, site visits, and field engineering support in the region and nationwide.

What You Will Be Doing At Woodard & Curran:

This position includes preparation and checking of structural analysis, design computations, structural software modeling, and contract documents (drawings and specifications) for various types of infrastructure projects. Structural design components include reinforced concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, timber framing and roof trusses, tanks, and buildings. Duties also include: reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings for projects described above; on-site field inspection of construction projects relating to structural and other engineering disciplines; assisting senior engineers in technical evaluations of materials and products and in-field investigations of existing structures, including preparation of reports; assisting senior designers and drafters in the preparation of contract drawings; some drafting and coordination with CAD designers.
