About Watershed

Watershed is a software platform for running a world-class climate program. We measure our success in the carbon reduction achievements of our customers. We are looking for team members who love product-building, want to work hard at a mission-oriented startup, and will collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a growing team.

The role

We’re looking for a creative and analytical marketing leader to own our content program and take it to the next level. You’ll play a crucial role in delighting our audiences, supercharging our pipeline, and telling the story behind our mission to accelerate the climate economy. Partnering closely with teams across Watershed, you’ll architect an industry-leading content strategy and help bring a program of compelling assets to life.

Our ideal candidate will be a seasoned and strategic content marketer who has top-notch writing and editing skills, a brand-first mindset with demand gen chops to match, and a data-driven approach to strategy. You’ll have an exceptionally high bar for content quality, and deep experience with the B2B playbook––alongside a desire to get creative and rewrite the rules.

You will:

  • Own and scale a full-funnel content strategy––from architecting the plan, to writing and overseeing content across channels, to executing on distribution plans and reporting on metrics
  • Write, copyedit, and oversee the creation of thoughtful assets that fuel campaigns and narratives, including long-form content, blog posts, videos, email, social, and more
  • Run an efficient, high-performing content marketing program, including managing calendars, tools, processes, and dashboards
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a small but mighty team of full-time and contract marketers
  • Be a steward for our brand voice, helping it evolve and scale across channels

You might be a fit if you have:

  • At least 6+ years of experience in B2B content marketing
  • Experience leading teams as an empathetic, collaborative, and effective people manager
  • Demonstrable success owning and executing on a content strategy, tracking performance, and achieving results
  • A finger on the pulse of content trends, insights, and tools
  • Experience distilling complex topics into easily digestible, compelling assets
  • Superb grammar, writing, proofreading, and editorial skills
  • The ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment

The anticipated salary range is in addition to a total rewards benefit package including equity, health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), unlimited paid time off, paid parental leave, fertility, and mental health programs etc.

Salary Range

$172,800—$225,500 USD

Where does Watershed work?

We have hub offices in San Francisco, New York and London, and some remote team members in the US and EU. Most of our jobs need to be in San Francisco / New York / London, but certain jobs are open to being remote and will be specifically noted on the jobs page and in the job description.

What’s the interview process like?

It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience screen (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel after that if the screens go well. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.
