What will you be doing?

As a Principal Actuation Controls Engineer you will be responsible for the development, integration and verification of the pylon tilt and blade pitch systems on our demonstrator & production aircraft programmes. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire technology roadmap, encompassing both current and future developments in actuation systems.

The candidate will assume responsibility for the overall system architecture and design, orchestrating a seamless integration across diverse aircraft disciplines. This multifaceted responsibility requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, control systems, and systems integration.

You will be working closely with a variety of engineering teams, both in-house and external suppliers. You will take technical responsibility for the integrated verification through component, rigs, ground and flight testing. In doing this you will deploy a multitude of engineering tools and methods and need to act as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).

You will report directly into the Head of Mechanical Systems and be a key member of the Actuation Systems team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.

What would we like you to bring.

We want you to be successful in your role, in order to achieve this, you will need to have proven experience in leading the development and integration of complex electro-mechanical systems, closely interlinked with other systems, particularly within time-critical programs. You will have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and thrive in a complex aircraft development environment, where managing multiple priorities concurrently is the norm. Experience of working in a highly regulated environment on safety critical systems is desirable.

A spectrum of technical competencies is required, including expertise in Requirement Management, Management of Technical Risk, Validation & Verification processes, and a demonstrable ability to drive software development. Ideally you will have gained this experience from either Aerospace or other highly regulated sectors ie. nuclear, robotics, medical, automotive etc.
