About The Role:

Reporting directly to the Founders, the Finance Manager is responsible for all corporate finance and accounting activities. This includes: day-to-day accounting, consolidating financials results, monthly forecasting, managing the annual operating plan, tax & accounting guidance, treasury management and credit management. Further extending the impact of the role, this role will be involved with the planning and managing of existing and future governments programs, including reporting and proposal writing, and collaborating with our existing accounting firm.

Key functions of the role include but are not limited to:

• Oversight of all corporate accounting and finance functions and activities including treasury management, reporting and analysis, and financial consolidation.
• Managing adherence to US GAAP and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts ensuring accuracy financial records
• Review and preparation of monthly financial reports
• Planning and coordination of the activities related to annual budgets and monthly forecasting processes
• Coordination of periodic financial reviews/audits with outside audit and tax firms
• Provides all necessary information to outside accountants in conjunction with the filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for the business and trusts
• Development of internal controls processes striving to build a more robust finance department
• Participation as a strategic business partner on cross functional teams to help drive organization efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement
• Support of all future capital raises
• Development of accounting talent in the organization

We are looking for an ambitious & altruistic person who can grow with the company and help build out the financial department in the years to come. This role will be based out of our office in New Brighton, MN with the flexibility of working remotely from time to time.

Requirements

• 5+ years of financial experience with a preference for experience in a manufacturing or government program related environment
• Understanding of government program, contracts and related accounting practices
• Financial consolidation software experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects with varying but stringent deadlines
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively interact with various levels of the organization

The below-range represents Verterra Energy’s current good-faith pay scale for this role, we reserve the right to modify or update this range at any time. Compensation is only one part of our entire total rewards package.

Annual Salary Range:

$140,000 - $160,000 USD
