Management Accountant

In 2021 Turntide acquired three North East businesses to establish our presence in the UK – those businesses were Borg Warner in Gateshead, Hyperdrive in Sunderland and Avid in Cramlington. The acquisitions allowed us to extend our Smart Motor System to the transportation sector and help turn the tide on climate change.

Companies are working furiously to develop new electrified platforms to meet the demands of their customers and do their part to reduce carbon emissions. The Management Accountant’s primary responsibility is to ensure the Management Accounts are produced in an accurate and timely manner, as well as taking responsibility for project accounting. The role is based at our site in Sunderland and reports into the Finance Director.

Job Role

In this role the Management Accountant will be responsible for the following:

• Accurate and timely production of management accounts for Turntide Transport, Sunderland
• Maintenance of fixed asset register, including regular review of assets and accounting for depreciation
• Posting month end journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations prepared on a monthly basis, ensuring all balances are correct and differences investigated
• Project/cost accounting, including regular meetings with project leads
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting process.
• Production of monthly cash flow forecast
• Management of capital expenditure
• Submission of quarterly VAT returns
• Assisting in year-end statutory audit process.
• Provide support to wider business for Process Improvements
• Other ad hoc tasks within the Finance Department

Experience and Skills

We’re looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:

• Previous experience of Management Accounts preparation
• Credit Control, Sales and Purchase Ledger experience
• Strong knowledge in MS Office, especially Excel

It would also be great (but not essential) if, in addition to the above, you also had:

• Experience in NetSuite
• Experience in Salesforce

Qualifications

A qualified accountant or working towards CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent
