About the Role

We are looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our growing global professional compliance team, based in either our Berlin or London office. This role will work directly with Trailstone’s Global Head of Compliance, to support European operations as part of a best-in-class compliance department in the energy industry.

This role will manage a variety of daily tasks, including; monitoring trade and communication surveillance, identifying and developing real-time monitoring alerts to oversee Trailstone’s algorithmic trading systems, responding to regulatory requests, conflicts management and delivering compliance training to the global business.

This person will be an asset to our business, providing advice and assistance to Trailstone by deploying strategic compliance initiatives across our organization. This will be a full-time role, owning the following responsibilities:

  • Monitor and clear trade surveillance alerts.
  • Monitor internal communications to ensure they are in line with Trailstone Compliance Policies.
  • Assist in identifying, developing and deploying Trailstone’s algorithmic trading governance framework.
  • Provide compliance advice and assistance to the business and support functions.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new joiners and offboarding of leavers.
  • Conduct Compliance training.
  • Help to ensure that Trailstone’s monitoring program, both trade and communication, is fit for purpose and is generating relevant alerts through regular reviews and calibration of the monitoring systems.
  • Collect and prepare presentations for monthly and ad-hoc meetings.
  • Assist in regulatory requests, inquiries and audits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings.
  • Ensure that all compliance policies and procedures are appropriately documented, updated and available for reference.

About You

This person will be a natural problem-solver, comfortable taking initiative and being a contributing member of a professional team. Attention to detail and effective communication will enable this person to excel in this position, by successfully collaborating and educating across all levels of our global business. In addition, we are looking for somebody with the following:

  • A University degree, or equivalent educational or experience-qualified background, in the subject of Business or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of industry experience in energy commodity trading and/or renewable energy management.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the physical and financial European energy regulations, including Grid Codes, REMIT, MAR, MiFID, EMIR, etc.
  • Fluent English language skills (both written and verbal). Other language skills are desirable but not essential.
  • A non-essential note: Python programming skills are desirable, but not necessary for the success of this role.
