Job Description
We solve global plastic pollution – and you can be part of the solution!
At traceless, we develop and produce a new generation of materials – designed to integrate harmoniously with nature instead of leaving traces behind. Our patented technology transforms agricultural residues into traceless®: a plastic-free, home-compostable, and biobased granulate that works with nature, not against it.
As part of our team, you’ll contribute to our bold mission: replacing plastics at scale and building a climate-neutral, circular materials industry. More than just a job, this is your opportunity to join a pioneering team – science-driven, purpose-led, and determined to make real change happen.
As a mandatory intern, you’ll help bring the vision of traceless to life by supporting our industrial scale-up and ensuring that traceless products successfully reach the market.
Your focus will be on assisting our Quality Management team in the following tasks:
- Quality control of intermediate products
- Quality control of finished goods
- Testing our products through physical and mechanical analyses
- Conducting measurements to verify process quality
You’ll spend your working days in an innovative environment at our site in Hamburg-Harburg – right where the future of sustainable materials is being built.
Academic background: You are studying Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Process Engineering, or another relevant scientific discipline.
Mandatory internship: Your internship, lasting at least six months, is a compulsory part of your studies and allows you to gain practical experience in a real laboratory environment.
Laboratory experience: You already have initial experience working in a laboratory and feel comfortable in an experimental setting.
Analytical skills: You perform product analyses and routine quality checks and can confidently interpret measurement results (e.g. NIR, filtration tests, particle determination, compositional analyses).
Working style: You work in a structured, careful, and methodical manner.
Organizational talent: You are able to prioritize multiple tasks in parallel and reliably meet deadlines.
Team spirit: You enjoy working with others and contribute to a positive, collaborative work atmosphere.
Hands-on mentality: You like to take practical action and are not afraid to get your hands dirty.
Innovative mindset: You think in solutions, bring fresh ideas to the table, and enjoy developing things further.
Language skills: You are fluent in English, both spoken and written.
At traceless, you’ll have the opportunity to do work that truly matters – for the planet and for future generations. With the launch of our first large-scale production plant in Hamburg-Harburg at the end of 2025, we’re entering an exciting new chapter: industrial scale-up and entry into the commercial market. We’re growing fast and are looking for passionate people who want to shape the future of truly sustainable materials.
What you can expect:
- Meaningful work with real environmental impact
- A start-up spirit combined with an industrial mindset and plenty of room to shape your role
- An inclusive, international team with more than 18 nationalities
- Flat hierarchies and a fair, respectful company culture
