Job Description

Tomorrow.io’s Space & Sensors team is responsible for the development of unique RF-based sensing systems, such as radars and radiometers, from architecture development through deployment to operational environments ranging from terrestrial to on-orbit. The team is also responsible for the development of corresponding spacecraft and constellations in support of Tomorrow.io’s Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our existing forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.

We’re looking for a Radar Applications Engineer to become an expert user of our in-house software-refined digital backend, the ARENA. This system is deployed in operational radar systems across terrestrial, airborne-, and space-based environments. As a Radar Applications Engineer you will have the opportunity to be in a role of a unique mix of customer-facing technical support, internal radar system testing, and radar system development.

What you’ll do:

  • Support external and internal technical development programs through radar systems engineering, hands-on hardware testing, and collaborative work with radar, software, firmware, and test engineers
  • Enable ARENA-based radar systems for both internal and customer programs
  • Complete hands-on testing and unique problem solving
  • Translate radar application requirements into use cases and configurations for ARENAs
  • Interact with a broad range of technical disciplines

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of experience with radar systems, including hands-on system testing
  • Understanding of RF subsystems and components in the 1 GHz to GHz range
  • Understanding of digital systems, signal generation, and acquisition
  • Experience with radar signal processing Expertise in analysis of radar data and test measurement data using Python or Matlab

Anticipated salary range for this role is $100K-$140K s ubject to local market and candidates skills and experience.
