The Manufacturing Team

We have redefined the eBike kit product category with excellent design and innovative technology, with our Manufacturing Team being key to producing our kits and delivering products to our customers.

To achieve the best possible manufacturing process, we are assembling a world-class manufacturing team consisting of Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Operations experts.

The Role

This opportunity is for a Supply Chain Manager to guide and manage our supply chain teams to maximise supply chain efficiency and reduce costs, through excellent relationship management and key market understanding, enabling Swytch to consistently deliver our kits to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the Purchasing and Supply Chain strategy to surpass annual business objectives, including Sales, Gross Margin, and the reduction of Supply Chain Working Capital .
  • Manage relationships with suppliers ensuring efficient and timely communication to maintain smooth operation in the Supply Chain.
  • Own and manage the full Supply Chain operation from component sourcing through to delivery at plant, implementing effective and lean operating systems which will both drive value to the bottom line and deliver exceptional service to our customers by ensuring the right part, right part, right time
  • Monitor the Bill of Materials cost and ensure the achievement of cost reduction targets.
  • Define and maintain effective supply chain to deliver BoM with required quality, delivery, and costs performance. Implementing industry leading audit and nomination processes.
  • Prepare annual and monthly budget for purchasing, keep it up to date, communicate changes to all relevant business functions, control actual spend and track it against the budget.
  • Define and maintain portfolio of key strategic suppliers to lead technology development at the required cost position,
  • Work alongside other business functions to assess and provide the product, service and material requirements which will underpin effective business operation
  • Continually assess business operation to implement industry leading practice, that delivers lean but effective operating that can meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Represent Purchasing and Supply Chain function for business planning and performance tracking activities, working with relevant members of the team to deliver global business objectives.
  • Maintain the system with all supply chain-related data, keep records up-to-date, and prepare regular as well as on-demand Supply Chain reports using the recorded data.
  • Act as senior escalation point for Supply Chain related issues, either externally or internally.

Shared Responsibilities

  • Manage 3PL and Courier relationships
  • Annual and monthly budget for logistics

Requirements

  • Minimum of +5 years' experience working at a senior level in Purchasing & Supply Chain
  • Demonstrated experience of driving change in fast moving environment
  • Strategic thinker
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Customer/market focused approach with results orientated, 'can do' attitude
  • Process driven with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Commercial acumen to assess and analyse supplier potential
  • Must have excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in manufacturing or related industry
  • High energy and determination to drive the best business results with enthusiasm and pace
  • Ability to balance 'hands on' with longer term vision
  • Role would ideally include regular visits to China, so an ability to travel and attain a Visa is essential.

Preference will be made for the following additional skills/experience:

  • Experience with Chinese supply chains
  • Experience with e-bikes, bicycles, batteries or other consumer hardware
  • Chinese language skills (business fluent)
  • Exposure to Chinese recreational and business culture (extended period living or working in China)
