Job Description

Position Overview:

Solid Power is seeking a Program Director to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of the next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment. The Program Director will act as the central resource and driving force for the product and manufacturing process development as well as managing the joint development activities with our partners. This is a critical position that will be essential to making Solid Power’s partnerships and product development a success.

Job Duties:

  • Execute complex, global programs within approved schedule, budget, and quality targets.
  • Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of assigned programs both internally & externally.
  • Lead cross-functional program teams (direct and indirect reports) to achieve program targets.
  • Manage external joint development partner relationships critical to achieving program objectives.
  • Manage and organize cross-functional activities ensuring program deliverables are completed on time, on budget in full.
  • Regularly interact across function areas and with senior leadership team to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Review product documentation and collateral to assure alignment between internal development and external messaging/strategy.
  • Develop & maintain effective communication channels with joint development partners and all internal stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional team through the APQP development phases from inception to production for Solid Power EV Battery Cell.
  • Drive phase-gate reviews and ensure program milestones are achieved.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership and consensus building skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of organization including c-level executives and technical staff.
  • Customer facing experience as a program manager.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence thinking / gain acceptance of others at all levels of an organization and in sensitive situations.
  • Thorough knowledge of phase gate methodology.
  • Strong communication skills, analytical skills, and thorough understanding of product development.
  • Rapid learner who thrives in a fast‐paced start‐up environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel internationally.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline required. Master’s degree or higher in a technical discipline or MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of industry experience with 10+ years’ experience in Program Management role with product development or manufacturing focus.
  • Battery cell development experience preferred.
  • Battery cell manufacturing process and equipment knowledge preferred.
  • Automotive industry experience (OEM / tier 1) with thorough APQP knowledge preferred.
  • Product development experience with joint development partners preferred.

Salary Range: $123,000 - $180,000 annually plus eligibility to participate in our equity incentive and bonus plans.
