Position Overview:

Solid Power is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. This position places a strong emphasis on automated inspection using machine vision. The ideal candidate will have prior experience developing and maintaining machine vision systems, a thorough understanding of camera fundamentals, and a proven track record of generating meaningful, repeatable data from those systems. Experience working in a pilot scale processing or manufacturing environment is desirable. This role reports to Manufacturing Engineering management and will work closely with other operators and manufacturing engineers.

Job Duties:

• Work with industrial automation equipment related to lithium-ion cell manufacturing.Create and upkeep vision system programs to provide accurate inspection results.
• Design/identify hardware to aid in inspection of manufacturing processes.
• Become expert on operation, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Documentation of engineering processes including work instructions and SOPs.
• Train operators on new processes to a proficient level.
• Analysis of production data to determine process efficiencies.
• Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.
• Resolve issues and delays in production.
• Work closely, collaboratively, and effectively with other departments and team members.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that reduce cost and maximize quality.
• Help to maintain and drive SRC’s countermeasures to closure.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of related industry experience with roll-to-roll coating lines or lithium-ion cell manufacturing.
• Familiar with foil coating instrumentation, including defect detection and vision systems.
• Working knowledge of camera/optical fundamentals.
• Experience with SolidWorks is preferred.
• Experience in a production environment.
• Experience with process data analysis.
• Rapid learner and self starter.
• Consistent and reliable work attendance is required.
• The ability to flex schedule to support off-shifts is expected with appropriate notice.
• Weekend work may be required.

Salary Range: $63,000 - $115,000/annually
