Job Description

Sol Systems is an independent power producer committed to building and operating clean energy infrastructure that benefits communities for the long term. We develop, finance, and own solar and storage projects across the United States and partner with utilities, corporations, and local organizations to deliver responsible energy solutions.

Sol Systems is seeking a Commercial Asset Management Intern to support the Asset Management Team with project onboarding and reporting. The intern will help monitor the operating and financial performance of Sol Systems’ assets, and prepare analysis to support the decision making of management and external stakeholders. Through this position, the intern will gain an understanding of solar project lifecycles, finance, and operations.

The Asset Management Team helps Sol Systems and its clients manage their solar investments. The team monitors the company’s direct investments, manages its financial exposure from existing contracts, and provides feedback to internal and external stakeholders based on technical analysis of the operating portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze financial models and projections
  • Gather primary system data from reports and system operators
  • Prepare presentations and written summaries
  • Assist with other projects as assigned

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Interest in renewable energy
  • Interest in asset management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with PowerBI, Confluence and Jira is preferred
  • This role is open to current rising undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors

Location & Hours: This is a full-time summer internship (30–40 hours per week) based in Washington, D.C. The internship will last approximately 8–10 weeks. Interns will be expected to work in the office three days per week.

Compensation: This is a paid internship, with an hourly rate of $20–$25, commensurate with experience.
