THE ROLE

As Technical Buyer you will be responsible for procuring technical products or services for Skytree’s technology development teams (Product and Engineering & Research and Development). For the majority of the time you will be embedded in the cross functional tech teams, heavily involved in their day to day work and requirements, but at the same time will work closely with the Procurement Manager and the Finance Team to source and select partner vendors including negotiating terms with material and component suppliers. This role involves a deep understanding of the technical specifications, functionalities, and requirements of the products or services they are purchasing.


YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY

  • Supporting the Product & Engineering and R&D departments with their procurement needs, on a longer term, but also ad-hoc basis.
  • Sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers/vendors capable of providing the required technical products or services and will be used later on as vendors in production.
  • Initiating relationships with new suppliers, sourcing samples for testing, negotiating high quantity pricing and delivery terms, moving suppliers to production.
  • Participating in supplier audits and scoring.
  • Understanding the technical aspects, specifications, and functionalities of the products or services being procured.
  • Ensuring that purchased products or services meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Assessing and mitigating potential risks associated with the procurement process, including supply chain disruptions, technical failures, or quality issues, and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Working to achieve rapid delivery to avoid development delays, without compromising quality standards or due process.
  • Collaborating with various departments within an organization, such as engineering, production, or research and development, to understand their technical requirements and ensure that purchased items meet their needs.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and market developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
