Job Description

Skeleton's Engineering department is looking for a driven

Mechanical Engineering Team Lead

with the vision to match our ambition.

In this role, your main role would be to lead your team of Mechanical Engineers daily by coaching, supervising and motivating. You would provide technical expertise on design input, sharing ideas and reviewing technical solutions. You would have a good grasp of costs and resources. Our ultimate goal with Skeleton is to build a net zero future, and our role is to make sure the world is aware of how we can help save energy, cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, and enable the energy transition.

Your tasks in the net zero journey:

Day to day

• Being a first point of contact for the team.

• Ensuring that frameworks and processes are followed.

• Facilitating and taking part in cross functional collaboration.

• Supervising project progress and team's workload.

Team management

• Working closely with and coaching team members.

• Helping with hiring new best talent and onboarding.

• Budgeting and monitoring costs.

Planning

• Assigning tasks and projects to team members.

• Reviewing and challenging team's sprint plans and coaching.

Engineering

• Providing input and ideas to engineers on possible design solutions.

• Reviewing and providing feedback to engineers' designs.

Process and work methods improvement

• Improving and executing development processes.

• Observing bottlenecks and propose & implement improvements.

• Documentation of technical knowledge and improving competences.

Requirements

We don’t expect to master it all. At Skeleton, you’ll have the support of the team and we work together to achieve our goals. However, there are requirements you should be able to fulfill to succeed in this role:

  • Bachelors'- or Masters' degree in Mechanical Engineering field.
  • In-depth knowledge of development processes.
  • Experience with quality management tools/methods (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Significant characteristics etc.)
  • Good problem solving and de-escalation skills.
  • Managerial and delegation skills and experiences.
  • High proficiency with Solidworks.
  • High proficiency reading technical drawings.
  • Ability to compose a budget for the team and monitor costs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High stress - and conflict tolerance.
  • Detail- and goal oritented.
  • Very good level of English, German language nice to have.
