Job Description

Skeleton's Electrical Engineering team is looking for a driven and experienced

HVDC Electrical Engineer

with the vision to match our ambition.

Your main goal is the development, design and testing of energy storage systems for various HVDC customer applications.

The main scope regards timing, deliverables, and product cost is the Engineering team, but interfaces with other teams are clearly understood and deliverables and scope are agreed.

Your tasks in the net zero journey:

  • HVDC Energy Storage System (ESS) electrical functionalities' definition based on commercial design brief or customer input.
  • Electrical requirements definition based on functionalities, industry requirements, standards and price targets.
  • Requirements compliance tracking throughout the development process.
  • Risk analysis and assessment for defined requirements (FMEA, FTA).
  • Reliability and redundancy analysis to meet the target lifetime and availability.
  • Concept creation based on required functionalities and requirements.
  • Component selection.
  • Electrical diagrams/schematic design.
  • Electrical simulations and/or testing.
  • DFM and DFT, making sure that designs can be produced and tested in series manufacturing manner.
  • Assuring quality through ad hoc testing, design validation testing, writing test specifications, and cooperation with test engineers.
  • Electrical system and product improvements.
  • Participate in product design.
  • Instruct and supervise manufacturing when needed.

Requirements

We don’t expect to master it all. At Skeleton, you’ll have the support of the team and we work together to achieve our goals. However, there are requirements you should be able to fulfill to succeed in this role:

  • At least 3 years prior experience as Electrical Engineer in solutions above 1.5 kV DC.
  • Previous experience with working in multidisciplinary project teams (software, hardware, mechanics, testing, production)
  • Has designed DC systems over 1.5 kV DC with current range within hundreds of amps.
  • Familiar with isolation coordination (creepage, clearance and breakthrough) for different components.
  • Good understanding of current interrupt, switchgear and protection circuitry design.
  • Experience with control and monitoring circuitry design.
  • Experience with EPLAN or similar ECAD. From simulation programs, LTSpice, Matlab or similar.
  • Ability to create reports in MS Office, data analysis in Excel.
  • Good problem solver and self-disciplined.
  • Focus on details and achievement, eager to learn and gasp new ideas.
  • Very good English level both in verbal and written.
