Who You Are

As a Materials Technician on the Procurement and Logistics team, you will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring the availability of materials, and supporting the overall operations of the storage and distribution functions within the organization. This role involves receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, as well as maintaining accurate records and inventory levels.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Receive and inspect incoming materials and supplies for quality and accuracy.
• Organize and maintain inventory storage areas to ensure efficient access to materials.
• Issue materials to various departments as needed, following proper procedures.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in stock audits.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software.
• Collaborate with purchasing and logistics teams to manage stock levels and reorder supplies as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the storage area.
• Assist in the training of new staff on inventory management procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on storage equipment and report any issues.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or inventory management is a plus.
• Proven experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in using inventory management software and basic computer applications.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Prior experience operating a forklift and other material handling equipment.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• This position may require standing for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work is performed in a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and equipment noise.

The starting base pay for this role is between $35/hr and $44/hr at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for overtime.
