Job Description

Sentera is seeking seasonal remote pilots who live in the U.S. Midwest with knowledge, experience, and interest in the fields of farming, agronomy, precision agriculture, unmanned aircraft systems, GIS, and remote sensing. Ideal candidates will look to apply these skills toward collecting and analyzing images of farm fields captured by drones.

Duties:

  • Collect aerial imagery and flight test using small unmanned aircraft.
  • Create and follow project schedules and test plans.
  • Communicate and coordinate with customers.
  • Travel to remote locations for flight operations (mostly day trips).
  • Process imaging sensor and flight test data.
  • Write status reports and blog posts.

Details:

  • Part-time (10 hours/week for training): March 1, 2024 - May 1, 2024.
  • Full-time (40 hours/week): May 1, 2024 - August 31, 2024.
  • Travel: Between 50% - 75% with occasional overnight travel. Travel expenses incurred are company paid.
  • This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
  • Worksite location: Midwest residence required with eligibility dependent on project locations.
  • This position is available for internship.
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • The ability to acquire a Part 107 remote pilot certificate prior beginning employment
  • Interest and passion for drone technology.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong computer and technical skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Analytical and detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to adhere to a schedule with deadlines.
  • Owns projects from beginning through completion.

Preferred Skills:

  • Active, current Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
  • Prior drone flying experience.
  • Agronomy or crop scouting experience.
