Role

Rystad Energy is seeking an ambitious and motivated candidate with a strong academic record, an analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in Spanish is essential, as the role requires effective communication in this language. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have a keen interest in the upstream oil and gas market.

The Upstream Team is part of the analysis department in Rystad Energy and is responsible for maintaining and developing our database and products within the sector. The work done by the Upstream Team is key for our company’s ambition to become a reference in market advisory solutions for oil & gas and energy transition.

As an intern, your role will consist of researching the major upstream markets across Latin America with a focus in Argentina and Brazil to support the development of our regional products. You will be joining a lean and collaborative team, in a very dynamic environment, interacting with analysts from different teams across the world and with local and global clients. Our regional team is growing fast and presents great career opportunities by the end of the internship program.

Key Responsibilities

• Research of the major Latin America upstream markets in search of new sources of data
• Support the update and quality control assessment of regional upstream databases
• Support the development and management of dashboards in Power BI
• Support the development of customized analysis, market reports and country reports
• Support the development and coverage of new companies within existing upstream databases
• Support the development of presentations for client meetings and webinars

Requirements

• Undergraduate in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, economics, physics, etc.), engineering, geology or geophysics.
• Attending the 8th term (semester) and above for 5-year courses or the 6th term and above for 4-year courses.
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and written in English and Spanish.
• Proficient in Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, ability to structure large spreadsheets efficiently) and PowerPoint, with knowledge of Python and SQL being a plus to support data analysis and automation tasks.
• Data driven, solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Team player, fast learner and interested in energy-related topics particularly as they pertain to Argentina and Brazil.
• Eager to be part of an international company and have exposure to people from different countries daily.
