The creative minds behind our beloved products. The Product Design team is a group of brilliant shoe and bag designers with unparalleled insight into past and future brand innovations. Whether designing all-new silhouettes or imagining fresh colors and patterns for existing styles, this powerhouse team dreams up the icons Rothy’s is known for—from yesterday, today and tomorrow.

You will be a part of a collaborative fast paced environment, working alongside the greater cross functional team to leverage key insights into brand objectives, consumer behaviors, and market trends to create fresh silhouettes that align to the product design vision & strategy.

As a Designer, you will apply your affinity for innovation & sustainability to bring seasonal design concepts to life that fit within the rothy’s brand DNA. You will work collaboratively with design leadership to execute the seasonal design strategy. You’ll be hands-on in the design process; research in color, pattern & macro trends, to materialization and knit design development. You will be responsible for adhering to calendar milestones, communicating design related revisions, and achieving business target outlines. We’re looking for someone with extraordinary communication and problem-solving skills who possesses a robust understanding of fashion trends, market landscape, and consumer expectations. This is an individual contributor role and will report to the Design Manager - Textile, Concept & Color.

What you’ll do:

  • Execute design concepts on seasonal design strategy outlined by design leadership and merch line plan
  • In depth research on relevant macro trends, across design resources, point of inspiration and market trends, to inform innovation and development of color, pattern, and materials
  • Create unique CAD textile design with original pattern and color per the seasonal design strategy set by the VP of Design & Merchandise Line Plan
  • Innovate and problem solve at all stages of the creative, design, and development process
  • Collaborate with Product Development/Production & China team members design’s intent and offer solutions to technical knitting, material and construction details
  • Proactively communicate with internal team members, contractors, manufacturing facilities, sourcing teams, and material management throughout the entire development process
  • Participate in design weekly meetings to review priorities and communications to the broader product teams
  • Review prototypes and pre-production samples against all technical packages and finalize CADs for production
  • Keep design boards and databases accurate and up to date
  • Adhere to seasonal calendar milestones, meeting deadlines set by the product development and merchandising teams

You are:

  • Collaborative and enthusiastic about learning
  • Adaptive to changing priorities, designs, and timelines
  • Passionate about color, pattern, design trends, innovation, sustainability and knitwear
  • Proficient in PDM systems

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Textile, Color & CAD design
  • A bachelor’s degree in Design preferred, or color theory and design training with equivalent experience
  • An expert level of proficiency in Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator required
  • An enjoyment for working in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
  • Great communication skills and ability to follow directions in a timely manner

Pay range:

$82,000 - $96,000 annually

Base pay is one part of the total rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Relocation Assistance is available for this role.
