Rondo Energy aims to eliminate 15% of global CO2 emissions in 15 years.

To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and significantly decarbonize industrial processes commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". The Heat Batteries are charged from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency, and at a cost point lower than any other method.

Rondo is looking for an IT Systems Specialist to join our IT team and help to support the organization's technology. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day technical support for all end-user hardware and software needs, including employees, contractors, and qualified vendors. Clients will be located both onsite at locations requiring hands-on support and located remotely, requiring troubleshooting and assistance over RDC or phone. You will also be a key part of the organization's intranet and cyber security.

What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to):

Work with IT team members to:

Endpoint Management:

• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Apple and Windows devices using solutions like Microsoft Intune and Apple MDM (e.g., Kandji) - aiming for a seamless user experience
• Implement and oversee endpoint security using CrowdStrike and Microsoft Defender to minimize threats

Email Administration and Security:

• Use Exchange and Mimecast to protect our email ecosystem from phishing, malware, and other security threats to reduce these incidents

Identity and Access Management:

• Assist in managing user identities and access using Azure Identity, SAML, and SSO to ensure secure yet flexible access to our systems
• Help to automate the user onboarding and offboarding process, striving for efficiency and accuracy

Cloud Infrastructure:

• Help secure and monitor Azure Cloud resources, utilizing Azure Defender and Azure Purview to detect and respond to threats promptly, aiming to maintain 99.9% uptime

Network and VPN Operations:

• Configure and maintain VPN and DNS settings to support secure and efficient network access, targeting zero downtime due to misconfigurations

Certificate and DNS Management:

• Manage digital certificates and DNS configurations to ensure secure communications and authentic identities across our organization

Office Equipment and Helpdesk Support:

• Support office audio/video solutions, such as Logitech, ensuring high-quality communication capabilities for all users
• Provide first-class helpdesk support to employees, aiming for a satisfaction rate of over 95%

Documentation and Knowledge Creation:

• Create and maintain relevant IT service management documentation including but not limited to endpoint inventory, software inventory, IP address inventory, how-to for end-users, troubleshooting, and incident response

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communications, or related fields, or equivalent certification and coursework in applicable fields of study
• Total 7 years of experience as IT Systems Specialist
• A minimum of 3 years of experience configuring and managing Microsoft Windows and iOS devices, strongly emphasizing Microsoft Intune and Apple MDM solutions like Kandji
• Hands-on experience with at least one of the scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity issues, processes, and best practices, including familiarity with Azure Cloud services and security tools (Azure Defender, Azure Purview, CrowdStrike, Code42 DLP)
• Proficient in the administration and support of O365 and Azure AD, and experience with email security solutions like Exchange and Mimecast.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage complex technical issues
• Solid understanding of networking technologies, IP tunneling, VPN, DNS, and DMARC
• Hands-on experience managing certificates for devices, VPNs, and Web Servers
• Exceptional communication and time management skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment
• Experience with MikroTik Firewall is a plus

• Rondo HQ is close to Oakland airport - one block from the Bay - and has stunning Bay views!

This role necessitates being on-site at our Alameda HQ and may require traveling up to 10% to support testing facilities. The estimated annual salary range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000 and it would be eligible for Rondo's excellent benefits listed above plus additional compensation in the form of equity. Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidates' diverse sets of skill levels and experience.
