Role Summary Internship Term: Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between 2026 through 2028 If you are not pursuing a degree, please see our full time positions on our Rivian careers site. We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Intern who has shown passion for modern software engineering domains such as C++/Rust/Go development within Linux environments. The Ideal candidate will have participated in design teams on campus to showcase their practical skillset or worked on side-projects outside of the classroom that showcases their engineering fundamentals. You will work on increasing the efficiency of the entire organization by building and automating multiple tools and systems used every day by hundreds of engineers. Responsibilities Design, build and manage a comprehensive build system using Bazel and Yocto to facilitate the development of linux images, services and libraries Develop GitLab CI/CD pipelines to ensure build stability and quality Develop Gitlab CI/CD pipelines to enable release management of linux images, services and libraries to multiple customers Inclusion of various static analysis tools such as clang-tidy, clang-format and valgrind into the build system to ensure code quality Enable validation of all services and libraries by ensuring integration of unit test frameworks such as Gtest and Gmock into the build system Qualifications Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university. Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Computer Science, Software Engineering. Experience with modem programming languages such as C++/Rust/Go Proficient with Linux/Bash/Python Strong Git skills (repo tools, submodules, git-lfs) Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law. Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
