Role Summary We are seeking a seasoned Hardware Field Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and develop our team of hardware experts. You will oversee the complete lifecycle of our cutting-edge ECU hardware projects, from initial design through to production and lifetime service. This pivotal role serves as the primary interface between our global hardware teams and key automotive clients, where you will be responsible for translating technical requirements, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring seamless communication. This is a crucial position for a leader with deep expertise in ECU hardware and a proven track record in the automotive industry, adept at navigating complex technical challenges and stakeholder relationships to deliver projects of the highest quality. Responsibilities Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and guide a team of hardware experts. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary interface between the hardware team Berlin, hardware team US and the VWG car brand clients. Manage expectations, translate technical requirements, and ensure smooth, quick and clear communication. Project Steering: Oversee the full lifecycle of ECU hardware projects, from initial design to production and Lifetime service activities. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance, support hardware bring up, hardware diagnostics, debugging and support to the team, troubleshooting complex hardware challenges and making critical design decisions. Risk Mitigation: Identify and proactively address potential risks and roadblocks to protect the team's workflow and project timelines. Issue Management: Handle internal and external Tickets about issues. Create an overview and tracking method to handle them. Interaction with brands and RVT internal departments and create a reporting. Manufacturing support: support production processes and feedback request on the production lines for the brands. Qualifications Experience: 7+ years proven experience in a leadership role, preferably as a team lead or senior engineer in the automotive electronics or embedded systems industry. ECU Hardware Knowledge: Deep technical expertise in Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and automotive hardware design. Automotive Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the automotive development process and working with car manufacturers. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities effectively. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
