Role Summary Internship Term: Winter 2026 (January 2026 - August 2026) Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between Decemeber 2026 through June 2028 If you are not pursuing a degree, please see our full time positions on our Rivian careers site. In this position you will support the Electrical Hardware Infotainment team in Palo Alto with a focus on Infotainment, Connectivity and Vehicle Access Systems. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of cutting-edge electronic modules for our next-generation electronics control units (ECUs). You will play a key part in bringing innovative features and seamless user experiences to our customers. Responsibilities Support in detailed analysis and hands-on characterization of analog, high-speed digital, and mixed-signal circuits for infotainment hardware modules. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, test and validation. Develop and execute test plans for design validation, including functional, electrical, and environmental testing. Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues at the board and system level. Generate comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, test reports, and manufacturing instructions. Qualifications Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Electrical Engineering (EE) Strong EE fundamentals (analog/digita/power electronics). Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, etc.). Proficiency with schematic capture tools (Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad). Experience with automation, simulation, data processing tools (LTspice, Python MATLAB). Strong interpersonal and team-building skills; ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries. Knowledge of System Engineering principles and requirements generation. Experience with Python for test equipment automation and data analysis. Familiarity with communication protocols such as PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, USB, I2C, SPI. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law. Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
