Role: As an Engineering Technician, you will take ownership over the installation, operations and execution of field testing our gravity energy storage technology, while also supporting its continued development. This role is largely hands-on with consistent travel to installation/testing sites (Elk Hills (Tupman) and Bakersfield, CA; as well as likely installations near Denver, Colorado) will be required. As part of a high-growth startup, you will be challenged to rapidly expand your skillset, with ample opportunity to grow into roles of increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting tests, troubleshooting, creating summary reports, and recommendations to Engineering
• Inspecting, analyzing, and performing root cause analysis on systems and equipment
• Sourcing replacement parts
• Hands-on firmware development (with assistance from our Lead Electrical Engineer)
• Repair or replacement of faulty equipment
• Manage contractors/consultants for repair support as needed

Requirements

Required skillset/experience:

• Associates degree in relevant trade such as mechatronics, electronics, engineering technician
• OR associated trade certification
• Bachelors degree is preferred
• Comfortable reading and utilizing user manuals
• Reliable, flexible, and detail oriented

Location

Bakersfield, California will be the primary location, with 10-20% of time spent in San Luis Obispo.
