Job Description
RABOT Energy is looking for a WordPress Engineer to take our web platform to the next level. You’ll play a key role in owning, developing, and optimizing our WordPress site — shaping the digital front of one of Germany’s fastest-growing energy startups.
We’re looking for someone who is excited about building reliable, scalable, and performant WordPress experiences, and who’s ready to bring creativity, autonomy, and engineering best practices to our website stack.
- Take technical ownership of RABOT’s WordPress site — from structure and functionality to performance and security.
- Develop custom themes, templates, and plugins that match our design and brand language while keeping the site flexible and scalable.
- Ensure fast load times, responsive design, and SEO optimization across the site.
- Work closely with our Brand, Marketing, and Product teams to translate business and design needs into clean, functional code.
- Implement and maintain integrations with tools like CRM systems, analytics platforms, and headless CMS features via APIs.
- Use Git and modern workflows for version control and collaborate effectively with other engineers for reviews and deployments.
- Stay up to date with the latest WordPress development trends, and drive best practices in performance, security, and code quality.
- Hands-On WordPress Experience: 1-3 years of experience building, maintaining, and customizing WordPress websites, with a strong grasp of core concepts (themes, templates, hooks, plugins).
- Technical Proficiency: Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP — and the ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code.
- Builder Familiarity: Comfortable working with popular WordPress builders such as Elementor, Gutenberg, or WPBakery — and knowing when to go beyond them.
- Debugging Mindset: Strong ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve bugs, compatibility issues, or performance bottlenecks.
- Version Control: Experience using Git and collaborating with teams in version-controlled environments.
- Autonomy & Ownership: You’re comfortable taking responsibility for your work and can move projects forward with guidance, contributing across the technical lifecycle from implementation to delivery.
- Team Collaboration: You enjoy working cross-functionally with designers, marketers, and developers — and can communicate your ideas clearly.
- Location: Be based in or willing to relocate to Hamburg
