It is dedicated to empowering purpose-driven enterprises to manage and improve their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and overall sustainability footprint with an integrated, comprehensive, flexible, and innovative technology platform built for compliance, tracking, and insight. About the Role We are looking for a hands-on DevOps and Infrastructure Architect to join our core engineering group. The ideal candidate is proactive, methodical, details-orientated, and process-oriented, while battle tested through years of architecting and managing DevOps and infrastructure for cloud-based SaaS products/applications.

Responsibilities

The DevOps and Infrastructure Architect is responsible for managing the heart of a cloud SaaS company – the hosting infrastructure that supports all customers. This person must be a detail-oriented, methodical, and hands-on architect, who can build and manage hosting infrastructure for Pulsora.

  • Work with the offshore and US-based team responsible for the cloud infrastructure for all Pulsora products.
  • Manage all Pulsora hosting (SaaS) infrastructure and the internal company infrastructure.
  • Enhance the hosting strategy and methodology including environment, architecture, and security to support a 24/7 mission critical solution.
  • Ensure compliance with hosting SLAs by maintaining smooth, secure, and predictable operation of data centers/hosting regions.
  • Define and enhance architecture in infrastructure areas including creating and enhancing cloud infrastructure architecture with landing zones (use blueprint architecture provided by AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI, etc.), CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments, patch management, database administration, API gateways, SFTP, FTPS, VPNs, firewalls, networks, telecommunications, security, storage, backup/recovery, resource planning, monitoring and reporting, and business continuity planning for disaster recovery.
  • Provide technical escalation for security, privacy, and downtime incidents, and be on call via phone/pager during designated escalation processes.
  • Provide support to gain and maintain security certifications, e.g. SOC 2, SOC 1, ISO 27001, as well as participate in security audits.
  • Monitor and ensure that systems and information assets are utilized at maximum efficiencies while delivering top-tier and quality uptime of infrastructure and hosting services and ensuring accountability and ownership of IT services. create dashboards for monitoring system statuses.
  • Create processes to efficiently document maintenance activities, failure analysis results, incident reports, penetration analysis, audit results, and activities related to management of projects.
  • Responsible for all Pulsora internal company infrastructure including internal networks, emails, printers, PCs/laptops, mobile phones, anti-virus tools, end-point management, issue management system, forums, VPNs, Wiki, QMS, document management, etc.

About you

  • 7+ years of hands-on DevOps and cloud infrastructure experience, including the deployment of frequent releases of software products/versions, developed by in-house software developers at data centers/hosting regions. (NOTE: IT experience that only includes deployment of 3rd party/vendor products is not sufficient.)
  • 3+ years of experience working with an offshore team, including the ability to interface in off hours with Pulsora’s offshore India team daily
  • 7+ years of overall DevOps and Infrastructure experience including:
  • 4+ years of experience creating and managing infrastructure environments for SaaS applications on AWS to support 24×7 operations that includes: creating landing zone architectures, EC2, EKS, firewalls, network, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, S3, SFTP, AWS emails, logs management, patch management, VPN, Active Directory, IDS, virus protection, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform.
  • 4+ years of hands-on system administration experience in Linux/UNIX.
  • CI/CD and Jenkins management experience.
  • 4+ years of production systems monitoring and troubleshooting experience.
  • 3+ years of RDBMS experience, e.g. Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
  • Able to provide after hours, on-call and escalation support of Pulsora’s 24x7 hosting environment, including system outages and incident response.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership of opportunities and works well independently, manages multiple simultaneous projects, and deals well with ambiguity and last-minute changes.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, meeting specific deadlines utilizing strong organizational skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree a plus.
  • Although not required, the following skills and experience may set you apart:
  • Experience with SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001 certifications are highly desirable
  • Experience with GCP, Azure, OCI is highly desirable
  • Professional certifications in cloud technologies/platforms, security, and networking are desirable
  • Experience with Couchbase or MongoDB
  • Experience with Elasticsearch
  • Apache Kafka experience
  • Keycloak experience
