Join us and work for the future. Our Bergen op Zoom (BPF) facility is one of it’s kind in large scale insect production facilities. Even within the expansion ambitions of Protix, BPF will be the centerpiece of Protix’ operational, product and technology improvements.
Investing in BPF is pivotal to maintain a profitable operation and to provide implementation of new technologies on a large scale. In your role as Project Portfolio Manager you will directing directly to the Improvement Manager. You will also have strong links with our Asset Development team, which is responsible for the development of new production technologies and large strategic CAPEX projects. With the AD team you will keep aligned on strategic technology developments and secure resources for local projects like technologist or process engineering capabilities.

Within the team you will be responsible for managing the CAPEX project portfolio within our production facility in Bergen op Zoom (BPF). Total yearly CAPEX spend is between 2 and 5 million Euro on an annual basis and consists of projects ranging between 10k and 3.000k EURO. In your job you will manage the total project portfolio based on business priorities, manage resources (both internal as external) and are overall responsible to deliver projects within time, budget and of agreed quality. You will work with a team of project managers and engineers and in close cooperation with the BPF operations team from initial project charter until close out of the projects. You will report on the status of the BPF projects, ensuring project budgets are released and the team is properly staffed for success. Next to this you will lead CAPEX projects as project manager where needed and possible to ensure a smooth execution of strategically important projects.

• Manage the total portfolio of small and large capital projects within our production facility in Bergen op Zoom
• Ensure a robust resource planning is in place and that the team is scaled up or down to execute the agree project portfolio
• Align with operations to determine project priorities and required downtime to execute projects
• Ensure the Protix project way of working and improve the process where needed
• Plan and manage contracting timelines in line with the overall project schedule
• Prepare input for stage gate review sessions related to the progress and quality of the deliverables
• Follow up progress on the execution and quality of the project together with the project managers and engineers
• Manage the contract with our in-house engineering consultant and follow up on performance
• Ensure proper handovers, training and documentation are part of every project the team finishes
• Provide input to the yearly budget cycle and report and forecast on total yearly CAPEX spend
• Execute large capital projects yourself as project manager, managing the projects to stay within time, budget and quality
• You have a BSc or MSc (NL: hbo or WO), ideally in the area of (technical) business administration, mechanical or process engineering (or similar)
• You have 4-7 year work experience in a relevant Project Management role within capital projects (>1 mioEUR) and/or are familiar with managing multiple projects at the same time
• Fluent in English (both verbal and in writing)
• You think and act on a high conceptual level while paying attention to details
• In projects you can create coherent project plans, manage project risks, ensure stakeholder involvement and provide clear progress reporting
• You are able to shape and structure projects in a self-sufficient manner
• You can structure projects from scratch and are able to align stakeholders both internally as externally
• Self-starting and entrepreneurial
• You keep the bigger picture in mind and are goal driven
• You are pro-active, good at working in multi-disciplinary teams and interested in working in a fast-moving work environment
