About the Department:

_n_th Bio, our enterprise biology platform, is the first of its kind to help partners of all sizes join us in creating a kinder, greener future through precision fermentation. _n_th Bio is focused on piloting and scaling our technology to partners across industries, including food, agriculture, pharmaceutical, biologics, textile, and personal care to create products in a new, sustainable way.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Global Head of Bio Analytics to lead the Bio Analytics team across geographies. An ideal candidate has led teams with experience in HPLC, MS, DSC, protein biochemistry, and high throughput analyses.


What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with leadership team on the development and implementation of functional strategies.
  • Travel to appreciate technical skills sets and equipments-status at PD sites where Analytical teams function.
  • Establish a high standard of planning and execution in teams that is common across geographies.
  • Ensure that cross-functional activities are executed either through direct intervention or by delegating duties to next-in-command.
  • Plan and execute growth strategies for team members and monitor progress made.
  • Assay development and optimization of various methods including but not limited to (U)HPLC, SDS-PAGE, DSC, 96 well plate colorimetric assays, LC-MS sample prep, and additional protein biochemistry assays.
  • Data and statistical analysis, reporting, and communicating results to an interdisciplinary group of scientists.
  • Work in a team, being proactive in your work, seeking opportunities to build your understanding, and contributing to a collegial environment.
  • Maintain timely documentation of work.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Self-starter with strong organizational, analysis, process design, training and general communication skills.
  • Proficient in contributing effectively in multidisciplinary teams to successfully meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues within tight timeframes while maintaining procedural integrity.
  • Project management training is an advantage.

Education, Experience and Other Requirements:

  • PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field with 7+ years post-graduate experience in a related field.
  • Candidate must possess a high level of technical aptitude, excellent communication, organization, and collaborative skills, and demonstrated ability to innovate, troubleshoot, and thrive in a dynamic cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with protein assays including but not limited to HPLC, SDS-PAGE, DSC, UV-Vis, fluorometry, 96 well plate assays, and LC-MS sample prep.
  • Experience with protein biochemistry and biophysical techniques that are adaptable to liquid handling/automation. Techniques include, but aren’t limited to, colorimetric assays, enzyme kinetics, PAGE, DSC/DSF, CD, FTIR, etc.
  • Knowledge of protein structure and post-translational modification characterization.
  • Ability to think and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capable of high performance in independent work and in team setting.
  • Experience working with high-throughput systems (96 well plate formats) is desirable.
  • Experience with automation, database input, query, and extraction are desirable.
  • Experience with Python, R, or other programming language is desirable.
  • Experience working for a multi-national company with leadership responsibilities across geographies strongly preferred.
