Job Description

Product Testing and Qualification Co-op

About Osmoses

Osmoses Inc. is a membrane technology company revolutionizing the way industrial separations are performed today! Industrial separation processes account for 15% of the world’s energy consumption and are responsible for 16% of CO2 emissions because we rely on energy-intensive technology. Changing this paradigm is one of the biggest opportunities to enable the energy transition.

Our mission is to re-design the backbone of the energy and chemical industry to make it more competitive and unlock new ways to produce and purify essential molecules. We bring together a dynamic group of scientists, engineers, business professionals, and operators from all over the world to develop and commercialize cutting-edge solutions that can reduce the impact of gas separations on the environment while increasing the economic incentive for our customers.

Join us! Together, we can create a future where cleaner, more abundant, and reliable energy is available to everyone, and more sustainable industrial processes become the norm.

Position Overview

Osmoses Inc. is preparing to build, qualify, and implement small- and large-scale pilots for the first Osmoses product line. The team will engage in process engineering, pre- and post-pilot membrane testing, and meticulous planning and design work in preparation for field pilots.

The Product Testing & Qualification Co-op will collaborate with the product development, engineering, and implementation teams to qualify and launch the first-generation prototypes and products from Osmoses into customers’ hands. The co–op will develop, implement, and maintain testing methods and standard operating procedures to qualify membrane coupons and fibers. This role will contribute to the qualification of Osmoses’ product and the commercialization of its membrane technology.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the design and execution of in-house gas separation experimental campaigns, evaluating membrane coupons and membrane fibers performance in diverse environments, including pure gas, mixed gas, and field mixtures, aligned with the product qualification criteria.
  • Ensure timely testing and qualification of membrane samples by conducting test campaigns, managing testing data, and summarizing results for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Create and maintain meticulous technical documentation, records, procedures, and operational guidelines, including standardized operating procedures for gas separation experiments.
  • Support the development of internal tools and dashboards to improve the analysis and reporting of membrane test data.
  • Operate routine laboratory equipment as well as specialized equipment required for membrane performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and implementation teams to support the design and fabrication of the Osmoses pilot membrane skid, including reviewing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment datasheets, and other project-specific documentation.
  • Review engineering standards and codes applicable to the pilot site locations, collaborating with the engineering and implementation teams to ensure pilot skid compliance.

What we’re looking for

  • Student in chemical engineering or related fields with hands-on testing experience.
  • Coursework in polymer science, chemical separations, and transport phenomena is a plus.
  • Experience with Airtable, Python, and creation of dashboards is a plus.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a creative, sometimes ambiguous, and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

What we can offer you

  • Opportunity to contribute to addressing one of the biggest environmental challenges of this century.
  • Work in the heart of the most innovative square mile in the world and the most exciting hub for clean tech.
  • High leadership and growth potential joining at a critical stage a company with strong momentum backed by leading venture capital firms.
  • Access to competitive salary and equity package.

Qualities we’re looking for

  • Collaborative Team Player
    • You thrive in a team environment, actively seek diverse perspectives, and leverage collective strengths to find the best solutions.
  • Accountable & Transparent - You’re highly organized, communicate progress openly, and proactively adjust plans when challenges arise—always with a collaborative mindset.
  • Clear & Impactful Communicator
    • You excel at both written and verbal communication, presenting research-backed, data-informed ideas to internal teams and external partners with clarity and confidence.
  • Agile & Adaptable
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, you’re quick to learn, willing to pivot, and ready to build expertise in new domains to support business needs.
  • Safety-First Mindset
    • You prioritize the safety and well-being of yourself and your team in every aspect of your work.
  • Technically Rigorous & Analytical
    • You bring strong problem-solving skills, sound reasoning, and a commitment to high technical standards.
  • Detail-Oriented & Self-Directed
    • You manage multiple priorities with accuracy and focus, working independently and collaboratively to drive results. You’re self-motivated and team-minded.
