Job Description

Thanks for your interest in Oklo! We are seeking an Information Technology (IT) Service Desk Technician who will provide technical support to all employees and contractors facing problems related to hardware, software, and networking. We are looking to fill this position immediately!

Position Description:

This IT Service Desk Technician will provide on-site or remote technical assistance including the setting up of computer hardware systems, installing and upgrading software, documenting and troubleshooting IT issues. This position will provide IT support by serving as the first point of contact for team members seeking technical assistance via support tickets, Slack, or email. This person will focus on directing the issue(s) to appropriate resources, supporting day-to-day IT operations, assisting with implementing projects, and other initiatives as assigned.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Act as first point of contact for all help desk tickets, Slack support requests, or email
  • Provide support with maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of end-user computer systems
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software
  • Provide support related to laptops, desktops, printers, and related peripherals (monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, webcams, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics and documenting problems and resolutions
  • Manage user account permissions and access rights (permission changes, password resets, MFA, VPN, etc.)
  • Perform routine/scheduled security patches and service packs
  • Train staff on general applications and corporate systems
  • Assist with onboarding of new users
  • Use inventory tracking software to manage equipment-related updates and deployments
  • Build and maintain system and network configuration diagrams
  • Work with senior staff and engineers on escalated tickets and planned system outages
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or assignments as assigned

Experience Level

Junior (0-2 yrs) or Intermediate (2-5 yrs)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in information technology or related field (or equivalent certificates or experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an end user focused technical support role
  • Strong technical skills in supporting macOS, Windows, and related hardware platforms
  • Working knowledge of networking and VPN, diagnostic utilities, and core applications (Slack, Office 365, Gmail, etc.)

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience in an ITSM environment and an understanding of ITIL methodologies
  • Hands-on experience in performing computer builds and upgrades
  • Experience with any of the following tools: JumpCloud, Docker, Linux, Git, Virtualization/VMware, Ansible/Puppet/Chef, Markdown/AsciiDoc
  • CompTIA A+ certification or other similar certifications

About Oklo compensation:

Salary: $68,000-$100,000

Salary may fall outside of the range provided and will be dependent on applicant experience.
