About the Role

ORPC has an opening for a SCADA technician to join our engineering team in Brunswick. Responsibilities include maintaining the SCADA and Instrumentation system for all new and existing shore stations. This position will also develop and improve interfaces and data reporting and analysis with support from ORPC engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide reviews/design inputs of Process and Instrumentation diagrams for SCADA System requirements
• Maintain existing SCADA systems
• Develop communication block diagrams, SCADA AC & DC schematics, harness, and network drawings
• Develop points lists for data between PLCs, RIOs, and SCADA controller
• Develop PLC programs for new systems
• Develop and Maintain SCADA screens and automated reports for all operational systems
• Commissioning and troubleshoot deployed systems
• Develop network device configurations for switches, routers & firewalls
• Configure and program VFDs, Inverters, and Power meters
• Troubleshoot existing SCADA network systems (Modbus, TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Fiber, DSL) remotely and onsite (if required)
• Perform upgrades on existing systems, including running wires, installing DIN Rail equipment and sensors.

Essential Qualifications

• Experience with the following a plus:
• Ignition SCADA systems
• Experience with VFDs
• Experience with communication troubleshooting software (Wireshark, etc)
• Protective relay settings experience

Education/Experience

• Associates degree in Electronics, Electrical, Automation Engineering or Equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with PLC Programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text)
• Basic understanding of LAN/WAN devices and topology
• Knowledge of Modbus protocols - serial & IP based
• Proficiency with MS Office Applications
• Ability and Willingness to travel to remote and domestic locations 10-15% of the time

Physical Requirements

• Position reports to our Brunswick lab; some remote flexibility
• IT support, ability to troubleshoot issues remotely.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to walk on uneven ground and travel to remote locations, both domestic and international
• Ability to meet all the safety requirements as determined by ORPC, including on-water training and OSHA 10 certification
