Job Description
About Noya:
Noya is reversing climate change by removing CO2 from the atmosphere. We’re a scrappy team of engineers, scientists, and operators taking on the biggest problem anybody could be working on. We’ve developed a process that leverages abundant materials to remove CO2 directly from the air with dramatically lower capital and operating expenses than other approaches.
About the Role:
This role will be critical to Noya’s success, in both the short and long term. Reporting to Noya’s CEO, you will have the opportunity of a lifetime to build and lead Noya’s supply chain function, which will be responsible for developing a best-in-class supply chain that will allow Noya to reach planetary-scale impact.
Our Head of Supply Chain role is central to getting Noya’s direct air capture technology into the field and ready to scale massively in the near future. You will build the procurement and EPC strategy to support Noya’s direct air capture deployments, and you will lead hiring efforts to build your future teams to support these scale-up goals. You will lead negotiations with suppliers to deliver Noya’s carbon capture materials, supporting equipment, and manufacturing components for our direct air capture processes. Your day-to-day efforts will range from developing high-level, multi-year strategy to executing on smaller tasks in the pursuit of Noya’s goals.
On top of all of that, you will dive head-first into a sea of opportunity to build one of the most climate-critical technologies that is currently under development. Ultimately, we are looking for a curious, first-principles thinker who will break through walls to achieve Noya’s mission of accelerating the world towards carbon negativity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all supply chain and procurement activities within the company
- Lead all efforts to ensure shipments, transfers, and movement of project equipment and parts arrive on time to the locations needed
- Closely collaborate with engineering and project development to support procurement for prototype builds and commercial deployments
- Define material spend forecasts + schedules; ensure execution against these plans
- Craft Noya’s short and long term supply chain strategy, anticipating and preparing for mission-critical risks in advance
- Build and maintain supply chain processes such as vendor qualification and management, inventory management and tracking, and purchasing and receiving systems.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with strategic vendors and supply chain partners including EPC firms to ensure supply continuity, material readiness, and overall supply performance
- Support preparation for Board of Directors meetings
Required Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in supply chain or operations within hardware-centric or industrial-centric companies
- Experience building internal supply chain systems from scratch
- Experience building supply chains from scratch for heavily engineered, mass-manufacturing products
- Experience negotiating complex supply agreements with critical suppliers
- Experience building and leading world-class teams towards completion of company goals
- Experience sourcing, negotiating with, and managing complex networks of contractors and suppliers
- Experience as a buyer or sourcing manager
- A well-organized project manager and expert in written and verbal communication
- Nice to have: background in mechanical, chemical, aerospace, electrical or materials engineering
General Information:
- Job title: Head of Supply Chain
- Team: Operations
- Location: Oakland, CA
- Compensation: $150,000-$180,000
Benefits You Can Expect:
- Blue Shield and Kaiser medical plans, plus 100% employer-sponsored dental, vision, life and LTD coverage
- Generous stock option compensation
- 401(k) with company match
- PTO including 13 paid holidays throughout the year
- Healthy snacks and lunch from local restaurants
- Paid parental leave
- Supportive commuter benefits
- Amazing workplace to build first-of-a-kind Direct Air Capture technology, close to West Oakland coffee shops and restaurants
- The opportunity to work towards an impactful mission in the climate space
