About Noya:

Noya is reversing climate change by removing CO2 from the atmosphere. We’re a scrappy team of engineers, scientists, and operators taking on the biggest problem anybody could be working on. We’ve developed a process that leverages abundant materials to remove CO2 directly from the air with dramatically lower capital and operating expenses than other approaches.

YOUR MISSION IN THIS ROLE

As an electrical engineering technician at Noya, your role will be crucial in ensuring the successful development and operation of Noya's carbon capture technology. You will need a solid understanding of electrical systems, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of engineers, researchers, and other technicians to achieve Noya’s mission.

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, skilled, and capable of working independently. You should have a keen eye for detail and be passionate about producing high-quality work. We are a small team, and we are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable and can take on a range of responsibilities as needed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Build and fit electro-mechanical assemblies according to specifications provided by the technical team, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard of quality.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues, and propose solutions to engineering team.
  • Take charge of the upkeep, maintenance, and repair of our electrical test benches and prototypes, ensuring that they are kept in excellent working condition at all times.
  • Assist in the testing, commissioning, and operation of the Noya carbon capture machines, and associated components.
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean lab environment, including inventory management and maintenance of lab equipment.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience building, testing, and modifying cable harnesses with terminations such as RJ-45, Molex, D-Sub, and other custom assemblies
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscope, signal generator, AC/DC power supplies.
  • Experience soldering down to 0402 component size and 0.5mm pitch QFN or other similar packages
  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical drawing and schematics.
  • PCB rework experience
  • Experience with electrical components including switches, fuses, breakers, and motors.
  • Familiarity with industrial devices such as pumps, compressors, power supplies, and mechatronics components.
  • Knowledge of power at varied voltages up to 480 VAC. Know the differences between DC, single and three-phase AC wiring configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical setup, including proficiency with hand and power tools, mechanical assembly and building electrical panels and enclosures to safety specifications.
  • A self-motivated individual who is willing to take ownership of projects and follow them through to completion with minimal prompting.
  • Perform diagnosis and rework of damaged and failed electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity of industrial communications protocols and wiring standards including Ethernet, RS-485/232.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Familiarity with standard environmental and safety rules, regulations, and requirements.
  • Knowledge of digital electronics, including PLCs and proto-boards like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and similar electronic components.
  • PCB design experience.
  • Programming experience (Arduino sketches, Python, C/C++).
