Job Description

At Notpla, we’re on a mission to make packaging disappear. We’re an innovative, ideas and action-oriented start-up that was founded on the belief that nature knows best. We develop and manufacture naturally biodegradable packaging solutions, made from seaweed and plants. We’re looking to bring in a Growth Lead to drive the commercialisation of several of our early-stage materials and products, targeted at consumer packaged goods brands locally and globally.

This is an exciting time to join Notpla - we delivered £1.5m revenue last year and expect to grow 4x over the next 12 months. This role will sit within our newly formed Sales Team focusing on the Food services industry. This will be Notpla’s first customer service hire and you’ll be at the heart of everything our sales team does and have the opportunity to speak to our wide range of clients. The role will work predominantly on being the first line of contact via email and call for all our customers, and helping categories and validate these contacts for our sales team. You’ll also be the gatekeeper of the Client Management System (CRM) making sure the team's data is up to date for processes correctly.


We’re looking for a people-person who prides themselves on building rapport quickly and going the extra mile for the customer. Experience in the food services sector is a ‘nice to have’, but not essential, as long as you're happy to learn about the sustainability and packaging sector. Additional responsibilities will include:


  • Manage all inbound inquiries via phone, email, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Monitor inventory levels and shipment statuses, communicating delays or shortages to customers. Your relationship with the Supply Chain function will be vital for these activities
  • Log and track all customer interactions in the CRM system, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date
  • Qualify leads through questioning and desk research, to set the sales team up for success in building new relationships
  • Support the sales team by scheduling appointments, compiling sales materials, and coordinating demos
  • Assist with drafting sales documents and preparing samples for customers as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction through feedback collection
  • Maintain updated knowledge on company products, services, and industry trends
  • Participate in ongoing customer service training to improve product knowledge and soft skills
