Job Description
At Northvolt, we are hard at work enabling the future of energy and designing giga-scale production of the world’s greenest battery.
Northvolt’s global BIM & Digital Twin team is now searching for a Senior Digital Twin Engineer to help us build solutions for simulation-driven engineering and optimize workflows for our highly motivated and skilled factory engineering teams.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of factory design and operational optimization, developing solutions for all phases of the factory lifecycle.
Our department is an international environment with professionals from industries such as battery technology, aerospace, automotive, and energy. We support the design of factories in both Europe and North America.
How to Succeed in This Role?
We are building a new team focused on digital twin capabilities, and you will play a key role in establishing this function in collaboration with our BIM team and our sister team, Factory Layout.
To succeed, you must develop and drive tools and workflows that support simulation and data-driven engineering methods. You will also build solutions packaged as “products” for use in production and within the wider Northvolt ecosystem, including supply chain and cell R&D.
As a Senior Digital Twin Engineer, you will:
- Enable engineering workflows by building simulation applications and frameworks.
- Develop information models and processes for their management and governance to standardize and ensure a high-quality data infrastructure for Factory Design and Engineering.
- Work with modern technologies in database management, simulation tools, VR/AR solutions, and other visualization tools to integrate them into our end-to-end framework.
We are looking for a senior professional capable of initiating and driving projects while also contributing individually.
You must have strong analytical thinking skills and a background in software engineering, combined with experience in simulation, statistics, or mathematics and an understanding of automotive, discrete manufacturing, or AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industries.
A practical knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C#, Go, SQL, or similar is required.
Experience in developing web-based solutions is a plus.
