Job Summary

MycoWorks is seeking a Contract Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Team. This role will support key accounting functions, including maintaining fixed asset schedules, managing operating and finance leases, overseeing equity and debt schedules, and ensuring smooth month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and analytically skilled, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Location is flexible - ideally the candidate will be based in our plant in Union, South Carolina. Remote/Hybrid work model will be considered for the right candidate.

This is a contract role with the possibility of extension in either a full-time or part-time capacity based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries
• Maintain the general ledger
• Perform Balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare account reconciliations and analyses
• Prepare month-end balance sheet schedules for fixed assets, operating and finance leases and equity/debt
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and settlements, transfer pricing, consolidation, and remeasurement entries
• Support month/quarter/year-end close

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Microsoft D365, or NetSuite.
• Strong analytical skills with Excel experience for accounting and business analysis.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
