With a naturally savory umami flavor and a wonderfully meaty texture, mycelium is a delicious, naturally sustainable option for people seeking a meat alternative. At MyForest Foods, we grow this gourmet mushroom mycelium inside our vertical farm in big, WHOLE pieces that can be sliced up just like traditional cuts of meat. Our first product, MyBacon is winning the hearts of vegans and carnivores alike—and we're just getting started!

Position: Your duties may change from time to time, based on the needs of MyForest Foods but your key responsibilities at My Forest Foods will be as Director of Business Development and will report directly to the Chief Customer Officer.

You will be responsible for owning the sales growth across assigned conventional and natural retailers. You will promote the MyBACON brand by creating account-level strategic plans and reviews to ensure business development and sales growth. Identify new opportunities at existing accounts and new customers. When the time comes to add brokers and Retail execution partners you will work closely with these contacts, to gain new distribution, score carding, and planning and evaluating promotions.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure revenue objectives are met
  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities
  • Builds relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors
  • Evaluates existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn’t
  • Manages key client relationships and works to build new ones
  • Expands the profile and reach of MyForest Foods and its brands
  • Updating Salesforce. Track pipeline progress in Salesforce throughout the client lifecycle, from lead to closed opportunities
  • Represent MyForest Foods at industry events: at trade shows and other industry events as needed. Articulate the MyBACON story in a concise and effective manner
  • Expertise & relationships with 3rd party providers of outsourced services is preferred
  • Cross-functional excellence: Work in partnership with members of Marketing, Logistics, R&D, Production, The Farm and Finance
  • Make presentations coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Builds cross-functional teams to guide and nourish sustainable, long-term growth
  • Tracks emerging markets and trends
  • Fosters and works to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions
  • Identifies and recommends new services
  • Proposes and develops strategic partnerships
  • Helps to shape the company’s long-term objectives and determine plans for how to meet them
  • Researches and identifies new markets
  • Provides advice on product development and distribution and promotion strategies

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of sales, retailer, and/or CPG experience is required
  • Retail business development experience is preferred
  • Host meetings clients
  • Host meetings with cross functional team members
  • High degree of proficiency in Google applications is preferred

The pay range for this role is based on the candidates' skills and experience. The range is $100,000-150,000.
