Climate change is causing deep uncertainty at all levels of society, with climate volatility reducing the security of all land-based assets and posing a multi-level security threat for the functioning of enterprises, societies, and governments.

Mitiga is a spinoff of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, which hosts MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe.

Mitiga's mission is firmly rooted in employing cutting-edge science and technology to mitigate the multifaceted risks posed by climate-driven perils. Our approach spans a spectrum of temporal scales, from real-time and annual forecasts to projections spanning the next century. This comprehensive perspective on risk, coupled with our capacity to transfer risks to capital markets via catastrophe bonds, positions us to significantly contribute to enhanced climate mitigation, resilience, and equity.

Who you are

You’re a maverick in creating compelling content for social media in English. You are duo-lingo’s dream, also holding a level of fluency of Spanish (and Catalan is also welcome). You have a passion for climate and sustainability issues. You know how to channel the voice of a leader/company in a way that inspires trust and credibility. You have a track record in content management, especially LinkedIn, with excellent copywriting skills (5+ years/2+ years working with C-level).

You can brag about how your knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics has helped you achieve growth on key social media key metrics. You have experience delivering creative content to match your words (image, video - hello, Canva?) and align with our brand and audience. You have honed your skills with a degree in Marketing or relevant field. You’re also able to bring your communications skills offline and can demonstrate your experience in event management. Finally, you’re discreet, diplomatic, and have the utmost respect for confidentiality.

Requirements

Your Impact & Experience

You’ll be the architect of the CEO’s online presence, leveraging their deep-rooted network within prestigious industries such as climate, humanitarian, sustainability and science. You’ll go beyond posting content to actively manage relationships, identify and seize opportunities and build upon our CEO’s hugely impactful brand - all the while remaining true to their unique voice and Mitiga’s values. Although you will collaborate closely with our superb Marketing team, this role will report directly to our Chief Strategy Officer to ensure alignment to Mitiga’s long-term objectives.

As a Executive Social Media Manager, you responsibilities will include:

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media and thought leadership strategy for the CEO across relevant platforms (mostly LinkedIn).
  • Create engaging and thought-provoking content that position the CEO as a thought leader in the climate and entrepreneurial space.
  • Foster conversations and interactions with key stakeholders and communities.
  • Monitor and analyse social media performance, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Identify and contribute to publications, articles, and research projects aligned with the CEO's areas of expertise.
  • Assist with ghostwriting and editing content to ensure clarity, impact, and authenticity.

Network Management:

  • Maintain and cultivate the CEO's network of prestigious contacts within science, tech, sustainability and climate ecosystems.
  • Identify and proactively explore potential partnerships, collaborations, and speaking engagements.
  • Manage inbound inquiries and requests, ensuring timely and impactful responses.
  • Proactively seek out new opportunities that align with the CEO's goals and values.

Reputation Management:

  • Monitor and proactively address online mentions and sentiment towards the CEO.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the CEO's online reputation and public image.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.

Event Management:

  • Support the CEO in planning and participating in events, conferences, and speaking engagements.
  • Manage logistics, outreach, and communication related to these events.
  • Leverage events to further connect with key stakeholders and expand the CEO's network.
