Job Description
Mill is all about answering a simple question: how can we prevent waste? Less waste can save time, money, energy, maybe even our planet. And there’s no better place to start than food. Food waste is one of the most solvable climate problems facing us today. Plus, our trash really stinks. It’s gross, heavy, and our least favorite chore. At Mill we are striving to build a better environment for all, as we take on climate and kitchen change.
Mill is seeking a creative Organic Social Strategist and Creator to shape our story. In this role, you’ll own Organic Social creative from A to Z. You’ll be responsible for managing Mill’s content calendar, producing, concepting, planning, shooting and editing video and photo creative, writing copy and publishing all social content. While this position is not responsible for all community management, you will be responsible for monitoring for UGC and regramming relevant content. Mill is looking for an experienced creator who is creative, passionate about food, cooking and the environment, and skillful in translating social and cultural trends for brand content.
What you'll do:
This role will own organic social creative production, prioritization short-form video and Instagram.
- Strategy: 30% of scope
- Content calendar planning based on Mill’s personas, campaign calendar
- Reactive marketing plans based on trends and seasonal moments
- Tracking and reporting on evergreen and campaign performance
- Creative production: 60% of scope
- Concepting, planning, shooting, editing videos and lifestyle photos
- Concepting designed assets and briefing them in with design team
- Writing all associated copy: post copy captions, IGS copy
- Creating co-marketing brand social executions
- Channel management: 10% of scope
- Community monitoring to source: UGC, testimonials, customer and prospective customer insights, inbound partnership opportunities
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate is inspired to create—we’re ready for you to elevate our Organic Social presence through experimentation and thoughtful curation.
You should have 2-3 years creating content, ideally in house for a brand, including:
- Familiarity with editing tools like Capcut or Adobe Rush
- Fastidiousness translating a brand’s voice and persona into the context of Organic Social
- Expertise in Instagram and TikTok, with a particular emphasis on how to make content feel channel-right
- An understanding of the social space and how to effectively translate relevant trends for brands
- Strong copywriting skills and an energetic on-camera presence
Role is part-time freelance with a three month scope.
