The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and curious Food Scientist Intern to join our Innovation team. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the development of cutting-edge food products while contributing to a healthier and more sustainable future. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about food science, creative problem-solving, and working in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and testing innovative food products using mycelium as the primary ingredient.
• Conduct experiments to optimize formulations, improve product texture, flavor, and nutritional profiles.
• Analyze and interpret data from sensory evaluations, shelf-life studies, and other quality assessments.
• Support scale-up efforts from lab to pilot and production scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Food Safety, Quality & Regulator (FSQR), Production, and Marketing, to bring products to market.
• Maintain detailed records of experiments and results, preparing reports and presentations as needed.

Qualifications

• Rising Junior or Senior currently pursuing a degree in Food Science, Food Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with food product development processes and food safety principles.
• Basic laboratory skills and experience with common food testing methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Passion for sustainable food systems and alternative protein products.

Compensation:

$23.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
