The Role:

  • Lead the High Voltage team and effectively prioritize workload demands to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, software, hardware, and quality teams to ensure a coherent design and consistent delivery.
  • Design and develop high voltage and high power electrical unit packaging, low voltage vehicle control boxes, and functional/performance specifications following best practices, e.g. OBC, DCDC, GWSW, fuse boxes, ECU, etc
  • Lead the design with the focus of cost, mass, performance and manufacturability
  • Lead the team to troubleshoot issues in manufacturing plants, assembly plants, and field operations
  • Coordinate CAE, design, prototyping, testing of components, and documentation of these activities
  • Lead failure analyses and experiments to propose design revisions and solutions
  • Mentor team members through coaching, feedback cycles, performance evaluations and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant design experience and has held a managerial role overseeing a team.
  • Experience integrating mechanical designs with HV and LV electrical systems.
  • Proven expertise in design release engineering, including engineering change control and project management, as well as in assembly and production environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as PCBA, injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting, machining, brazing and fixtures.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, DOE, Six Sigma, tolerance analysis.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably CATIA V6/3DX.
  • Language proficiency in Mandarin and English, written and spoken.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with automotive engineering and product validation processes
