Job Description
| What will I be doing? You will lead our Financial Accounting domain, a key strategic enabler for our energy retail clients. Your mission will be to provide them with a configurable and powerful financial engine that seamlessly integrates with their existing systems. You will own delivering the product roadmap for this important area, evolving existing capabilities to meet the complex analytical, reporting and audit requirements of a global market. This role is ideal for a product manager who is driven by empowering customers and abstracting complex financial processes into a scalable, elegant SaaS solution Own and drive the product roadmap, and delivery for finance and accounting functionality (e.g. ledger management, revenue recognition, compliance reporting & audit). Work cross-functionally with engineering, compliance, operations, finance, customer success, and external partners. Communicate product vision clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Own the integrity of financial data within our energy billing ledger, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation between billing operations and financial reporting. Translate complex billing data to make it clear, and actionable for various stakeholders, including finance teams, accounting, and regulatory bodies. Proactively gather insights from customers, finance stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and the wider market to inform roadmap priorities. Translate feedback and trends into an actionable roadmap. Act as a subject matter expert on how billing data impacts financial statements, revenue recognition, and general ledger postings. |
| About You Ideally you’ll have/be Good understanding of financial accounting principles, particularly as they relate to revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and general ledger operations. Experience working with large datasets and complex financial systems, ideally within the energy or utilities sector. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, data visualization tools) to extract, manipulate, and interpret financial data. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, other including the customer ( finance, operations) and internal (other product teams) Understanding of the energy billing lifecycle and ERP systems from meter read to invoice and payment, and integration with ERP systems What will set you apart Deep experience with energy billing and ERP systems, specifically within their financial modules or ledger integration points. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and reporting standards in the energy sector. A track record of successfully bridging the gap between technical billing data and financial reporting needs. |
