Jua is on a mission to achieve artificial general intelligence (AGI) by delving deeply into physics, the universe, and their relationship with human civilization. We are operating a foundational earth systems model. Our first model is capable of predicting atmospheric physics globally, with state-of-the-art performance in comparison to existing weather models.

As we scale the model, more applications like wildfire, flood or vegetation prediction become possible. Our flagship product is an API designed for weather-dependent power and energy traders, offering superior accuracy, lower latency, and a higher refresh rate, especially during critical events like hurricanes and cyclones.

With substantial venture capital backing at a sensible valuation, our first objective will be to provide businesses and countries with several orders of magnitude better and faster weather forecasts. Our multidisciplinary team combines expertise in machine learning, physics, aerospace, data processing, and UX design to create a crucial component for a sustainable world amidst changing climate patterns and increasing extreme weather events.

What we are looking for

As a Senior Technical Product Manager at Jua, you’ll drive the advancement of our model’s capabilities from a product management perspective. You will synthesize customer insights to deliver customer value-centric applications for the energy market. Leveraging your machine learning know-how, you play a crucial role in innovating and differentiating our AI system.

Your background includes a proven history of steering multidisciplinary product teams toward highly successful results. You possess a rapid learning ability, coupled with a keen curiosity for areas such as meteorology and energy trading.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Conceive, collaborate on, and execute the vision and strategy of our foundation AI model, defining an ambitious roadmap for product development and leading the vision, strategy, and execution of our technical features and applications
• Synthesize user insights into actionable product requirements, user stories, and product specifications
• Swiftly prototype various applications and features to explore how cutting-edge AI advancements can address the challenges faced by our users
• Own product management execution for the AI research teams
• Collaborate with AI researchers, engineering managers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute sprints
• Communicate product roadmap, releases, and value propositions to different stakeholders

Need-to-have

• Over 5 years of experience in technology companies, including more than 3 years of hands-on product management experience
• A technical background (e.g., as an AI or Machine Learning Engineer) with the ability to work with machine learning engineering teams
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complicated topics in easily understandable terms to a diverse set of external and internal stakeholders
• Possessing advanced analytical abilities, a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making, and adept conceptual thinking skills
• A keen sense of curiosity coupled with a rapid learning aptitude to enhance expertise in energy trading and meteorology
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide multi-disciplinary product teams to successful outcomes. You find satisfaction in participating in cross-organizational collaboration, navigating trade-offs, and managing competing priorities
• Applicants should either currently reside in Zurich or demonstrate a readiness to relocate (EU/EFTA citizenship is a prerequisite for relocation). It is important to note that the selected candidate will be required to work in the Zurich office for three days a week.

Nice-to-have

• A background in climate modelling, meteorology, and related areas is a major plus
• Experience in working on AI products that process very large data volumes
