Our company


Innovafeed contributes to the construction of sustainable food systems by developing a pioneering and innovative industry: the breeding and processing of insects (Hermetia illucens or black soldier fly) into high-performance Hilucia™ ingredients for animal and plant nutrition.

Our mission:

· To have a positive overall environmental impact based on the circular economy and inspired by natural food chains

· To generate local economic dynamism: in order to feed and raise our larvae, we are co-located with agro-industrial partners that provide us with co-products and low footprint energy

Incorporated in 2016, Innovafeed manufactures and sells 3 different insect-based products:

· For high-quality aquaculture that’s respectful of animals’ natural diets, Hilucia™ insect protein is well suited for fish feed, particularly for salmon and trout that you would fly fish for in a river! 🐟 It’s also an excellent protein source for pet foods, particularly for dogs and cats. 🐶😺

· For a sustainable farming that’s respectful of animal welfare, Hilucia™ insect oil is efficient for feeding animals like poultry and swine 🐤

· For a regenerative agriculture that’s respectful of soils’ integrity, Hilucia™ frass made from processed insect feces is leveraged as an efficient organic fertilizer 🌱

The success of our project depends on a dynamic and talented team. We opened the first production site in Gouzeaucourt (Hauts-de-France) in 2017. We launched our second production site in Nesle (Somme) at the end of 2020: and it is 20x times larger than Gouzeaucourt!

To finance this scale up, Innovafeed has raised a cumulative of €450 M, including a €250 M Series D in September of 2022. This capital will be used to further increase production capacity in France through the further expansion of its Nesle site and to accelerate Innovafeed’s international expansion in Decatur, Illinois, USA.

We are experiencing significant growth through strong market traction and significant production scale-up.

Your mission

As part of the Technical Sales & Marketing Team, you will be responsible for the P&L of the pet food division which includes developing Innovafeed’s Hilucia™ insect protein and Hilucia™ insect oil product portfolio, running and strengthening our Key Accounts, and securing new ones. Your responsibilities will entail:

1. Developing and implementing the pet food commercial strategy relying on your strong market expertise and connections via

· Identifying and prioritizing market opportunities and commercial leads

· Securing new long-term commercial partnerships

· Growing existing partnership in line with increasing production capacity

2. Further improving and securing Innovafeed’s value proposition in pet food in coordination with the Product Development and Product Performance teams via

· Strengthening value proposition and expertise on the performance and functionalities of Hilucia™ insect ingredients (protein and oil) in pet food

· Positioning Innovafeed as a major research partner in insect-based pet food and supporting clients with technical and marketing expertise

· Demonstrating Innovafeed’s product performance in pet food (e.g.: performance trials)

· Optimizing and developing Innovafeed product portfolio and quality (e.g.: new product launch)

3. Ensuring seamless sales operations and contract execution across the pet food division, covering multiple sites and geographies (client and operations)

Your qualifications and skills

You have a Master’s Degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, and/or Business with 5 + years of experience working as a product manager or technical sales manager in the pet food sector in a B2B company. Having experience with innovative / novel ingredients in the space is a strong advantage. You will also need to be fluent in English both speaking and writing.

You will evolve in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment with a high level of both complexity and expectations of the Technical Sales and Marketing team.

You have a sense of results and deadlines, constantly optimizing the resources necessary to achieve your objectives.

You are pragmatic and efficient, you propose innovative approaches in the short term and ensure the development of key knowledge and skills for Innovafeed over the long term.

More generally, we seek to integrate into our team people who know and love: self-organize, prioritize and make trade-offs on a daily basis to achieve objectives in a constrained context.
